Timber and PVC are very common construction materials. However, unlike other common building items like cement, bricks and blocks, storing and transporting timber requires a lot of care and proper handling. If not handled and stored correctly, the quality of these products can deteriorate much faster, leading to waste.
Our MDF, Redwood, Oak and Meranti facings, skirtings and finishing timbers are stored within 'pigeonholed' racking alongside our PVC fascia, soffit and trim range.
This means that each section size sits within its own defined space and helps us keep the product flat and protected from coming into contact with unnecessary damage or dirt.
Whilst timber can be prone to bowing from time to time, by keeping the product lying flat within our racking we keep that to a minimum, ensuring the product is fit for purpose when it arrives to your home or site. Some merchants opt to store timber and other longer products vertically, but this can vastly increase the chances of bowing or warping and increases the likelihood of an accident happening within the warehouse environment.
Our staff also find this type of racking particularly helpful, and it allows for easy manual selection of the product picked by the customer.
